Support for psychologists in practice

We hear from many practitioner psychologists that although  they are deeply concerned about the climate and ecological emergency they don’t know how to engage in their roles as psychologists.  So we supported the development of this list of ideas, which has been adopted by the British Psychological Society’s Division of Clinical Psychology (DCP)  as a framework for engagement with members.

It starts with the suggestion that we need be gentle (with ourselves as well as with others), but maybe it needs a bit of strengthening – we surely need to be bold, fierce and enraged too  – in the right places.

The Climate Psychology Alliance is also a great source of ideas, knowledge and wisdom for exploring ways of connecting and acting upon the complex feelings that the emergency evokes.
